Happy World Book Day.
On the eve of World Book Day, yesterday (March 1st 2023) it was announced that I am the 2023 Anthony N. Sabga Arts and Letters laureate, one of three laureates selected by the Trinidad and Tobago based Anthony N. Sabga Caribbean Awards this year. The other 2023 laureates are Trinidad and Tobago public health doctor Dr. Adesh Sirjusingh and Guyanese agri-scientist Dr. Mahendra Persaud. I am Joanne C. Hillhouse aka jhohadli aka #gyalfromOttosAntigua. Read our bios here.
It’s been a roller coaster of feelings…but through it all Gratitude.
Here’s the video announcement.
I’ve clipped my announcement for my AntiguanWriter YouTube channel but the announcement in full (30 or so minutes) posted to the Awards website is worth viewing in full to find out about this laureate programme and the organization behind it.
