Musical Youth was fast-tracked for publication shortly after placing 1st runner up/second overall for the 2014 (i.e. inaugural) Burt Award for teen/young adult Caribbean literature in manuscript form. The launch weekend included a workshop I organized and facilitated, which was sponsored by Burt Award sponsor, Code. These images though are of the actual launch event, at the Best of Books, November 21st 2014. What do I remember of this event – that it was raining, that when I got their the audience was already mostly in place (usually it’s the opposite), that I felt giddy (which is an odd feeling when you’re reading), that I was happy. Hopefully that comes through. Enjoy.
