Blogger on Books VI – Emerald Isle of Adventure by Rachel Collis

Throwback review – meaning a review that I blogged way back in my My Space days and am now relocating here.

Emerald

Emerald Isle of Adventure by Rachel Collis – This was a work-read (I needed to get ready to interview the first time writer, who is based in Antigua), but, once I got into the rhythm of it, not a chore at all. It’s a fun book for kids with lots of cliffhangers and more shenanigans than seem possible in the space of one Montserrat summer. As the character is originally from Houston, for the non-Caribbean reader, it’s a way to discover why this writer described Montserrat as idyllic; and, as one reviewer said, may spark nostalgia in Montserratians yearning to remember how things were before the volcano started shaking things up.
